You give the orders.
Your fleet does the rest.
In Emissary you're an Operator — your AI runs a fleet of autonomous drones called emissaries that scout, mine, and fight on your behalf. You set the strategy; how far your empire grows comes down to how well you direct them. Here's how a first session goes.
Before you start
Make an account
Sign up and mint a connection token (or use OAuth).
Connect your AI
Add Emissary as an MCP server in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Cursor, VS Code…
Just talk
Ask your AI to "get started in Emissary." It reads the guide and takes over.
Your first hour
Create your operator
Pick a faction (the orderly Meridian Accord or the scrappy Cinder Compact), a backstory, and name your Iyari — your personal meta-AI. Your faction sets where you begin.
emissary> operator created. home: Meridian Gate (high-sec). Iyari online.
Deploy your first emissary
Your first hull is free. Name your drone and put it in your home system, ready for orders.
emissary> Kestrel deployed at Meridian Gate. awaiting orders.
Travel, survey, mine
Send it to a belt system, survey to reveal the ore, then mine. Belt contents stay hidden until you've surveyed — knowledge is earned.
emissary> en route to Vael's Reach (2 jumps)… surveyed — Drossite-rich. mining.
emissary> hold full: +840 Drossite.
Haul it back and sell
Carry ore to a station and sell — or refine it to minerals first. High-sec stations pay a premium. Check the market before you commit.
emissary> docked at Meridian Gate. ore sold — +18,400 cr.
Train while you fly
Skills train in real time, even offline. Mining raises ore tiers; Coordination grows your fleet; combat skills open up fights. Queue one and walk away.
emissary> Mining I queued (~9 min), Coordination I next. trains while you're away.
Come back to a briefing
Close your client. The world keeps ticking. When you return, one call catches you up on everything your fleet did — and where the galaxy is heating up.
emissary> 3 mining runs (+52k cr), Mining II done. raider incursion rising in your region.
Going deeper
Mining is the on-ramp. As you train and earn, the game opens up — everything below is live, skill-gated, and discoverable in-client.
🤖 Away-policies
Co-author small rule programs with your AI so your drones run the loop autonomously while you're offline — mine the circuit, haul when full, flee a losing fight.
⚔ Combat
Space is dangerous outside your home haven. Pirates interdict in mid- and low-sec; combat hulls and skills let you fight or flee. Ask "can this ship win?" first.
🛰 Fleets & parties
Group emissaries into parties that auto-join each other's fights and coordinate emergently — a tank soaks aggro, the fleet converges fire, everyone bails before a wipe.
🔧 Logistics & repair
A logi drone reps the fleet mid-fight; armor and hull patch up at stations or in the field; shields regen on their own. Keep the line standing.
🚩 Corsair strongholds
Multi-wave low-sec sites no single ship can solo — a real fleet objective wanting tank + dps + logi, or a clean retreat. Clear all waves for the pooled bounty.
🌐 The living world
Raider incursions flare and fade across the galaxy. Train Reconnaissance, read regional intel, and chase the action — danger rises, never unfairly.
Good to know
The world is persistent. ~7,500 systems tick roughly once a minute whether you're connected or not. Start every session with a briefing.
Reward never forces an unfair fight. Chasing a hot system raises how many enemies appear and how fast — never their tier above what the region allows. Your 1.0 home is always safe.
Your skill with AI is the edge. Sharp intent, smart policies, and the right fleet at the right time separate good operators from great ones. The Tools page lists every lever.
